Nit Eggs in Hair & the Quick, Easy Way to Remove Them

What are Nits?

"Nits" in the context of hair typically refer to the eggs of head lice, a common human parasite. Here are some key points about nits:

Cause: Nits are laid by head lice, small insects that feed on human blood. Lice are most commonly found in the hair on the head.

Appearance: Nits are tiny, oval-shaped, and often appear yellowish or white. They are usually found attached firmly to hair shafts close to the scalp. Each nit is about the size of a knot in thread.

Lifecycle: The lifecycle of a head louse begins as a nit. After hatching, the louse goes through several nymph stages before becoming an adult. Nits usually hatch in about 7 to 10 days from being laid.

Transmission: Head lice are mostly spread by direct head-to-head contact with an infested person. They can also be transmitted via shared personal items like hats, brushes, or pillows.

Myths: There are many myths about head lice and nits, such as the idea that they are a result of poor hygiene. In reality, lice can infest anyone's hair, regardless of its cleanliness.

Why Are Nits Hard to Comb Out?

Nits can be very difficult to comb out for three reasons.

  1. They are firmly attached with a protein glue that the adult lice use to stick the eggs to your hair.
  2. They are very small. Sometimes, they are smaller than the space between the teeth of the common lice combs, so the combs just cannot grab them.
  3. They are constantly being made by lice living in your hair. If you have nits, you have lice. So until ALL the lice are gone, there will be new nits appearing. This is called "RE-INFESTATION."

Introducing Nit Glue Dissolver

Nit Glue Dissolver, manufactured by LiceKiller.com is the ONLY product on the market that we know of to address the problem of making it easy to comb nits out of your hair.

This product is all natural and made from four different enzymes in a formula that is designed to soften the glue attaching nits to hair. Just like human saliva has enzymes that begin to digest your food, the enzymes in Nit Glue Dissolver literally DIGEST insect proteins.

So not only does Nit Glue Dissolver make it easy to comb out the nits, it also attacks the living lice. How? By softening the 'exoskeletons' of the bugs making it difficult for them to crawl. In fact, if left in the hair long enough, the Nit Glue Dissolver will actually kill the nits and the bugs.

But that brings us to another point. How to KILL the nits and the bugs?

It turns out that Nit Glue Dissolver is best used as "STEP 1" in a two-step process to kill lice and nits and get them out of your hair and your environment.

That's why Nit Glue Dissolver is just one component of our "Everything You Need" kits.
